About Me

My name is Carolyn and I am the creative drive and maker behind The felt flower company! I design and produce felt flowers from my home in Toowoomba. While shuffling my three kiddos back and forth from the farm in Mungindi, on the NSW/QLD border.

Inspired by a speaker from the wool industry at a rural women’s event I first used wool felt to create some simple flowers. As my confidence and technique developed I’ve taking on more challenging projects.

Every piece is made with the utmost care and attention to detail. I pride myself on making a superior product that you will love having in your home for many years to come. Felt blooms are a wonderful, low maintenance addition to any space, especially in our harsh Australian climate! They won’t wilt, don’t require light, or water, and are easily reshaped.

Every petal, leaf, and detail is entirely cut by hand, by me. I love to try and push myself to recreate the intricate native Australian flora. Working closely with clients, communication is of the utmost importance and I strive to ensure that you feel confident and comfortable through the entire process. Whether the piece is for a special event, as a keepsake, a new nursery, or simply to brighten your space, felt flowers are a great option for any occasion.

Frequently Asked Questions How do you clean felt flowers? Flowers and other felt decor items are easily cleaned by giving the item a good shake upside down to remove dust. Compressed air is also a wonderful cleaning option for felt. After cleaning your flowers they can be reshaped and fluffed to look as good as new! If necessary flowers can also be gently spotcleaned with a damp cloth. Do you make custom orders? I take on custom order sparingly when time permits. But I’m always happy to hear about a project you might have! I’m generally able to accommodate most requests. What materials do you use? All of my flowers are made using heirloom quality 100% wool felt sourced from Europe. Wool felt is buttery soft, yet extremely durable. It comes in a gorgeous range of colours, and is dirt and fire resistant. Are your flowers suitable for Children? No. All products I create are for decoration purposes only. They are not intended to be used as toys and may contain spall parts that are a choking risk to small children.
